Brought in my Seiko that had been running slow for months. They put it on the timing machine and showed me exactly where it was off before doing anything. The rate has been solid for five weeks since I collected it. Refreshing to see the actual numbers rather than just being told it is fixed.

My diver needed its gaskets changed before the rainy season. The price was exactly what they told me over the phone. They also mentioned that one of the pusher tubes had some corrosion starting and gave me the option to have it looked at or just proceed with the standard work. I appreciated being asked rather than just having the bill extended.

Drove up from Maha Sarakham specifically to use this workshop. My grandfather's automatic had not been serviced in about twelve years. The movement looked to be in reasonable shape internally despite the long gap, and the full service they did brought it back to keeping very decent time. The written record they provided was a nice detail — I will keep it with the watch.

I have been going to shops that change gaskets without testing afterwards for years and just assuming it was fine. Escapory pressure-tested the case after the refresh and actually showed me the result. Turned out the case held well, which was good to know. Worth the extra peace of mind.

Came in with a watch that had gained about two minutes a day for several months. The turnaround was nine days which is reasonable for a timing job. The explanation of what was adjusted was clear without being condescending. The watch now runs within about five seconds a day which is a significant improvement on where it was.

Not many places in the region that handle mechanical movements with this kind of care. I have sent three pieces to Escapory over the past year — one for a full service, two for timing — and each one came back in noticeably better condition. The communication is also better than I have experienced elsewhere. They contact you if anything changes, which does not always happen.

A Closer Look at Three Service Jobs
Challenge
Vintage Seiko Losing 4+ Minutes Daily
An owner in Khon Kaen brought in a 1970s automatic that had been sitting in a drawer for several years. On winding and wearing, it lost more than four minutes a day and the mainspring winding felt rough.
Solution
Full Movement Service
The movement was fully disassembled. Old lubricant had dried and was dragging on several friction surfaces. Components were cleaned ultrasonically, reassembled with fresh lubrication, and the rate adjusted on the timing machine across four positions.
Result
+/- 8 Seconds Per Day
From losing over four minutes to within eight seconds per day. The owner collected it after twelve working days with a full service record. The watch is now worn daily.
Duration: 12 working days
"I did not expect it to come back this accurate — I just wanted it running again. The difference is remarkable."
Challenge
Diver Watch With Unknown Seal History
A diver watch purchased second-hand, with no service records. The buyer wanted to start using it for swimming but had no idea whether the seals were sound or how old they were.
Solution
Gasket Refresh + Pressure Test
All gaskets were replaced as standard. The caseback seating was inspected and the threads cleaned before refitting. After closure, the watch was placed on the pressure tester and held to its rated depth for the required time.
Result
Confirmed to Rated Depth
The pressure test passed without issue. The owner received a written note of the test result alongside the watch. Turnaround was four working days from drop-off to collection.
Duration: 4 working days
"The written confirmation of the pressure test was exactly what I wanted. Now I can actually use it in the water."
Challenge
Dress Watch Gaining 90 Seconds Per Day
A mechanical dress watch gaining about ninety seconds daily. The movement appeared to be running well by feel and the rotor wound smoothly — it had simply drifted in its rate regulation over several years of use.
Solution
Timing Adjustment
The watch was placed on the timing machine in five positions over two days. The amplitude and beat error were checked first, and then the regulator was adjusted to bring the rate within a reasonable window across positions.
Result
+12 Seconds Per Day Average
From ninety seconds gained daily to a consistent twelve seconds — within acceptable range for an unserviced movement of its age. The owner opted not to proceed to a full service at this stage, which the workshop respected.
Duration: 6 working days
"Good that they showed me the actual timing machine numbers. I could see exactly where it had been and where it ended up."
